Puppies arrived...

... August 13, 2020.  6 healthy yellow lab pups, 2 girls & 4 boys.  Some are dark yellow, like their dad, Scout.   All are doing very well; doing all the things that newborns do.  They are wiggling, twitching, squealing, crawling, eating & eliminating (when stimulated by mom) constantly.  They are content to eat for 7 minutes every 2 hours -- true Labs, they already make their way to Frances as soon as she puts her feet into their sleeping/growing section of the whelping box.

A Photo Album showing the growth of the pups as they grow will be posted below.

Frances was whelped  September 27, 2015.   Scout was whelped June 23, 2012.   Pedigrees of Frances and Scout will be able to be retrieved by clicking on the names above their pictures.[Being Prepared, available soon]  [Pedigrees are in PDF format.  If you do not have the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing and printing PDF files, see the bottom of this page]

Our doors are open to our wonderful Puppy Huggers but this year, I have to ask for some special consideration from all of you.  We will have to limit the number of people visiting to no more than 6.  We cannot accomodate large groups at this time.  And we have limited "hugging" hours.  Our daily hours, 7 days a week, will be from 11am to 1pm & 4pm to 7pm.    My husband, Tim, has been undergoing cancer treatments since March & he has a very compromised immune system.   We ask that everyone wear a mask when you come.  Tim's immune system is very low.

Birth Week
All are doing very well.  Frances is a hovering mom which is usual for the time immediately after giving birth.  This "motherly instinct" will last for 3 days to a week then it won't be as strong but for now, she is keenly aware of every move/sound every puppy makes.  I caught her this morning w/her front paws in the little bin w/the puppies -- they were not happy w/her crowding them.  We've come to our theme for this litter -- the Lion King.

Just born --looking for a spigot..Move over, bro.  we're settling in. The cafeteria is open for business. A warm corner is a good place to snuggle.

This none is MINE!  Go get your own. Already an armful at only 5 days. Mom's checking out the troops.

It can be very tiring entertaining all these folks who stop by. The kitchen floor feels nice and cool. We just LOVE to shuggle with one another like this.
